The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized an Interactive Session with Dr. Sanjeev Chopra, Director, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie & Honorary Curator, Valley of Words: International Literature & Arts Festival, Dehradun on a book he is authoring titled as “Mapping the Indian States : Aspirations, Assertions and adjustments 1947 -2021” on 1st March 2021 in The Bengal Chamber premises. The book would be published by Harper Collins in August 2022.
The programme was presented in hybrid mode. The session was attended by a distinguished audience including the senior Managing Committee members and dignitaries like Shri Pramod Agrawal, Chairman, Coal India Limited; Shri Hirdyesh Mohan, IAS, Principal Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises and Industrial Reconstruction, Government of West Bengal and Shri Rajanvir Singh Kapur, IAS, Managing Director, West Bengal State Transport Corporation.
Dr. Chopra graced the session along with Dr. Prasanta Ray, Professor Emeritus in Sociology, Presidency University; Former Professor in Political Science and Sociology, Presidency College and Honorary Visiting Professor, Institute of Development Studies Kolkata and Mr. Deb A Mukherjee, President, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The programme was commenced with the formal Welcome Address by Mr. Deb A Mukherjee, President, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Dr. Chopra shared fascinating narration on the evaluation of the maps of India and interesting anecdotes around the same. The open house interaction was moderated by Dr. Prasanta Ray.
The programme was the part of the Chamber’s Think Lecture Series.
