The Skill Conclave and Awards 2020-2021, 15th March 2021, Chamber Premises, Physical


In the process of building New India, skill development is one of the most necessary key today. India is now on the threshold of a new era of ‘National Education Systems 2020’. To address this crucial situation, ‘Skill Development Committee of the Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry’ had organized  ‘The Skill Conclave and Awards 2020-2021’ on 15th March 2021 at Williamson Magor Hall, BCC&I premises. 

The inaugural session was commenced with an introductory address by Ms. Paromita Ghosh, Director, Candid Communication. Welcome Address with the expert views on skill development was delivered by Mr. Subrata Dutta, Chairperson of The Skill Development Committee of The Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry. In his President's Speech, Mr. Deb A Mukherjee, President, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry had provided his introspective views on skill development. The next session, Fireside Chat on Journey of 100 years of The George Telegraph Training Institute, was with Mr. Tanmoy Banerjee, Director, RT Network Solutions, as moderator and Mr. Subrata Dutta, Chairperson, The Skill Development Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, enlightening audience about how to build a legacy and continue to serve nation through skill development. Mr. Deb A Mukherjee, President, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry provided a “Special Recognition for Serving the Youth through Skill Development for 100 years” to “The George Telegraph Training Institute”, by handing  over a Memento to Mr. Subrata Dutta, Chairperson, The Skill Development Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Managing Director, The George Telegraph Group. Next session had eminent speakers from academia of skill industry like Mr. Amit Srivastava, Director, JIS Institute of Skill Development, Mr. Meghdut Roy Chowdhury, Director - Global Operations, Techno India Group, Founder & Curator- in-Chief Offbeat CCU, Chairperson- The Entrepreneurs’ Committee, BCC&I,  Mrs. Keya Seth, Founder and Principal, Keya Seth College of Beauty, Ms. Bidisha  Sarkar, Group Director, Subhas Bose Institute of Hotel Management, Mr. Sanjib Kumar Das, Joint Director, The George Telegraph Group. The session was moderated by Ms. Shaon Sen, WBCS (Executive), Addl. Director, SUDA, Addl. Mission, Director NULM, Joint Secretary, Urban Dev & Municipal Affairs Dept, GOVT, WB where speakers touched almost every aspect of skill development. The Last session was the award and recognition session of the conclave where “JIS Institute of Skill Development” won the award for “Best Industry Academia Connect 2020-21”, “Techno India Group” won the award for “Best Institute for Entrepreneurship Development 2020-21”, “Subhas Bose Institute of Hotel Management” won the award for “Best Institute for Training in Hospitality Sector 2020-21”, “Keya Seth College of Beauty” won the award for “Best Institute in Beauty and Wellness Sector 2020-21”. Mr. Tanmoy Banerjee, Director, RT Network Solutions concluded the conclave with his “Vote of Thanks”. ‘The Skill Conclave and Awards 2020-2021’ was well attended by representative from industry and academia through both physical and digital mode and got substantial coverage in the media.
