The Bengal Chamber organized the first edition of the "How Green Are We” Awards Competition for MSMEs over digital platform on 19th August. The competition aimed at assessing the sustainable practices adopted by the MSMEs and increasing the awareness amongst MSMEs about the need to adopt such practices. This event also helped them understand the cost benefits of adopting energy efficient practices and waste management practices, installing renewable energy and practicing carbon neutral growth practices. At the contest, the participants also described the support they seek from Chambers of Commerce, Government Agencies, Banks, Private sector enterprises and others.

More than 50 contestants participated in the Awards competition, of which 28 participants made to the final rounds held on 12th and 13th August, 2021. The pre-final round screening was based on the application forms and the allied documents submitted by the contestants.

This year 4 manufacturing and 3 service sector companies won the Award. 3 more companies (2 from manufacturing sector and 1 from services sector) grabbed the special appreciation Award. They were all felicitated on 19th August at the event of “Manufacturing & MSME Connect” program. Mementoes and certificates were also provided to the Finalists.
