First Edition of Authorly Quarterly Programme, 12th February 2021, Virtual Platform
The Film Music and Media Committee of The Bengal Chamber organized the First Edition of the Authorly Quarterly programme on the 12th of February 2021. Mr. Kunal Basu, the eminent author, graced the occasion.
Mr. Kunal Basu is the author of critically acclaimed novels including The Opium Clerk, The Miniaturist, Racists, The Yellow Emperor’s Cure, Kalkatta, The Endgame and most recently, Sarojini’s Mother. His work has been translated into several languages and nominated for prestigious awards. The lead story of his collection of stories, The Japanese Wife, has been made into an award-winning film.
Mr. Basu was in conversation with the Chairperson of the committee, Mr. Arindam Sil.
He answered various interesting questions. His various works were discussed. He told the audience, how he does extensive research before writing on a topic, how his story, The Japanese Wife was made into a film and about the beautifully written novel Kalkatta. There was a special segment where his latest book Sarojini’s Mother was discussed. Mr. Basu read out an excerpt from the book Sarojini’s Mother.
The online session was interactive with a lot of participation from the education fraternity. At the end of the session, the viewers asked questions which were answered by Mr. Basu.
