Doing Business in Thailand – Gateway to ASEAN, 7th July 2021, Virtual Platform


The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry in association with Thailand Board of Investment organized an online session on ‘Doing business in Thailand- Gateway to ASEAN’ on 7th July 2021. The focus of the session is to strengthen connections with Indian companies, introduction to the Board of Investment (BOI) and create awareness about the investment opportunities and government support measures for a company. 

Ms. Sweeya Santipitaks, Consul-General, Royal Thai Consulate-General, Kolkata in her Opening Remarks mentioned about focus sectors of Indian Companies like food processing, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, manufacturing, biodegradable products, organic chemicals, food ingredients and flavouring, renewable energy, IT, agriculture and others have a potential market in Thailand. Indian business can depend on Thailand as a prospective business partner for stability, growth and sustainability.

Mr. Nanthapol Sudbanthad, Director Consul, Thailand Board of Investment, Royal Thai Consulate-General, Mumbai made a presentation on how BOI provides business support services and the Targeted Industries of Investment Promotion. Thailand’s strategic location makes it an Investors’ Gateway to Asia. Thailand’s flagship Special Economic Zone (SEZ) will accelerate future growth of the region. Eastern Economic Corridor of Innovation (EECi) will provide infrastructure and innovation ecosystem which is scheduled to officially open in 2021. The target industries include modern agriculture, biorefinery, battery and modern transports, aviation and medical devices will also offer tax incentives and privileges.
