Panel Discussion on “Making of New India by the Visionary Raja Ram Mohan Roy”- Celebrating the Beginning of 250th Birth Anniversary of Raja Ram Mohan Roy, 21st May 2021, Virtual Platform
The Heritage Committee of The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I) organized an Online Panel Discussion on Making of New India by the Visionary Raja Ram Mohan Roy – Celebrating the Beginning of 250th Birth Anniversary of Raja Ram Mohan Roy on 21st May 2021 at 6 p.m. on Virtual Platform.
The objective of organizing this panel discussion was to understand and gain knowledge about how Raja Ram Mohan Roy thought and looked at India in a way ahead of his time. It was a very informative and thought-provoking session.
The Panel Discussion was moderated by Dr. Debanjan Chakrabarti, Member, Heritage Committee, BCC&I and Director East and Northeast India, British Council Division, British Deputy High Commission. The panelists of the session were Prof. (Dr.) Ranjan Chakrabarti, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Vidyasagar University; Dr. Aniruddho Sanyal, Documentarian, Philadelphia, United States of America, Ms. Rupa Majumdar, Editor and Director, Dev Sahitya Kutir (P) Ltd.; Mr. Somesh Dasgupta, Whole Time Director, India Power Corporation Ltd.; Dr. Swati Bhattacharjee, Eminent Journalist and Author and Prof. (Dr.) R P Banerjee, Chairman and Director, Eastern Institute for Integrated Learning in Management – Kolkata.
The Panel Discussion had an over-whelming response and the total number of participants comprising of Industry experts, representatives from academia, Brahmo Samaj, etc. was 494 plus approximately.
The Panel Discussion was an eye-opener for the delegates present, as it created a platform to hear about a Great Visionary like Raja Ram Mohan Roy, about his activities, etc. which had provided a new vision as well as created a new path for industry to excel in their various verticals of business.
