4th Edition of Healthtech – A Virtual Conclave, Digital Transformation of Healthcare in the new normal world, 26th and 27th February 2021, Virtual Platform.
The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry had organized the 4th Edition of HealthTech, as a virtual conclave, on 26th and 27th February 2021.
The theme this year was Digital Transformation of Healthcare in the New Normal World.
PwC was the Knowledge Partner like earlier years. A Thought Paper had been released at the forum on "Transformation of the patient journey in a virtual healthcare set-up in the new normal".
With the outbreak of the pandemic the health sector is witnessing a digital revolution. This edition brought together stakeholders of healthcare and technology sectors and they have shared the latest developments in healthcare in the backdrop of the pandemic and the technology adoptions that have accelerated in a scale not imagined earlier. Doctors, healthcare professionals and administrators, researchers, academia, technocrats, consultants from different countries shared best practices and way forward to create an ecosystem of universal healthcare aided by technology.
In the Curtain Raiser Session on Day 1, 26th February, 2021 Opening Remarks was given by Dr. Alok Roy, Past President, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry & Chairman, Medica Group of Hospitals. Mr. Deb A Mukherjee, President, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry & Managing Director, Cenergist Energy Private Limited deliberated the Welcome Address. Theme Address: Digital Healthcare –Vision and Reality: Global and Pan- India perspectives was given by (Honorary) Brigadier Dr. Arvind Lal, Padma Shri, Executive Chairman, Dr. Lal PathLabs Ltd. Ms. Anna Roy Adviser (DM&A) NITI Aayog, shared Government of India’s Vision on Digital Healthcare. Dr. Rupali Basu, Director and CEO, Woodlands Multispeciality Hospital Limited, deliberated on Leadership in healthcare in digital age. Thought Paper by PwC on ‘Transformation of the patient journey in a virtual healthcare set-up in the new normal’ was released in the Curtain Raiser Session by Mr. Arnab Basu, Chairperson – IT Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry & Managing Partner - East; Advisory Leader, PricewaterhouseCoopers Pvt. Ltd. The Curtain Raiser Session was concluded by Dr. Rabin Chakraborty, Chairperson – Health Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry & Senior Vice Chairman - Cardiology Services & Senior Consultant Interventional, Cardiologist, Medica Superspecialty Hospital.
The Curtain Raiser Session was followed by the Session on ‘Trends in Health Tech’. The Session was chaired by Mr. Arnab Basu, Chairperson – IT Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry & Managing Partner - East; Advisory Leader, PricewaterhouseCoopers Pvt. Ltd. Overview of the Thought Paper on ‘Transformation of the patient journey in a virtual healthcare set-up in the new normal’ was highlighted by Mr. Sayantan Chatterjee, Consulting, Director, PwC. The other topics that were discussed in the Session on ‘Trends in HealthTech’ were Ethics in Digital Health and Clinical AI, Virtual Care via Telehealth, Wearable Technology and Intelligent Automation to ensure effective operations. The last Session of the Day 1 was on Smart Hospital Management Systems. The Day 2, 27th February, 2021 was started with a Session on ‘Korea's K-Quarantine ICT Solution 2020’.
