Online session on “India’s New Agricultural Reform – The Way Forward”, 6th October 2020, Chamber Virtual Platform
The Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry organized the Online Agriculture Colloquium through the Chamber virtual platform. The objective of the conclave was to promote Government Vision, analyze policy changes, and provide effective solutions for industry stakeholders and farming community. Through this initiative, the Chamber would create an awareness on new bills -“Farmers Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020”, “Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020”, “Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill 2020”.
The programme was graced by Mr. V R Kaundinya, Director General, Federation of Seed Industry of India (FSII) and Mr. Ram Gopal Agarwal, Group Chairman, Dhanuka Agritech Limited. The colloquium was moderated by Mr. Jayanta Chakraborty, Co-Chairperson, Agriculture and Rural Development Committee of The Bengal Chamber and Senior General Manager, Indofil Industries Limited.
The Programme was attended by more than 200 relevant stakeholders including policy makers, industry players from agriculture & allied sectors, progressive farmer’s producers’ organizations, Agri-tech start-up.
